Job Description of a Project Manager/Estimator – Direct to Owner Projects

We are looking for a project manager / estimator who not only prepares and sends detailed estimates but when we are awarded the project, will also be the project manager.

As an estimator the key responsibilities are take job leads, drive to jobsite to examine the project, prepare and send thorough estimates.  Also includes receiving the bid invitation and downloading digital blueprints, using estimating software to develop a cost estimate, request vendor and subcontractor pricing, typing and emailing the bid proposal, adjusting for addendums, attending scope meetings, and calling/emailing customers, general contractors and architects with questions.

As a project manager the key responsibilities are ensure there are no safety shortcuts on your projects, internal job setup forms, submittals, ordering material, working closely with our warehouse foreman and job foreman on site to ensure great field performance, project documentation, attending meetings, tracking job costs and budgets, building long term relationships with our customers and vendors, attend customer and vendor events.

This job will focus on projects where we work directly with the owner and plastering work. Typically, these projects are smaller in size but larger quantity of projects and require more interpersonal skills over technical skills.

Experience as a construction estimator and project manager is not required. The persons knowledge of construction is less important than their ability to learn quickly and be a good fit for the job and our culture in order to succeed in this role and have a fulfilling career for themselves to enjoy coming to work.
